DIRA Tech Fest 2026

A three-day technology festival that trained 108 people across 10 digital skills tracks, produced 10 startup products in 48 hours, hosted a government Tech Summit, and drew over 1,000 participants to Cathedral Hall for the public festival.

DIRA Tech Fest 2026 was the first edition of what is designed to become the Northwest Region's annual innovation and digital entrepreneurship event. The festival ran across two venues over three days. Days 1 and 2 were held at LTC Hall, Mile 3, Bamenda, where 108 participants trained in 10 specialised digital skills tracks before forming cross-functional teams and building working products in 48 hours.

Day 3 moved to Cathedral Hall, Bamenda, where a public festival, a government Tech Summit, a live startup pitch competition, and a business exhibition for 45 enterprises all ran simultaneously. The Tech Summit panel brought together representatives from MINRESI, MINPMESSA, MINPROMALO, NFC Bank, and the digital business community. It was moderated by Mr. Reinhard Nebassi.

The pitch competition awarded 70,000 XAF in prizes across four teams. SWMS (Smart Waste Management System) took first place with 25,000 XAF. DIRA's housing marketplace, DHUB, was publicly launched at the event before an audience exceeding 750 people. The Bamenda Tech Startup Coalition was officially seeded at the closing ceremony.

A three-day leadership, purpose, and success training conference themed "Raising Manifesting Leaders," bringing together seven mentors and three keynote speakers to equip participants to lead, discover purpose, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the wider world.

DIRA partnered with the organizing team of the Wisdom Series Conference (WSC), a three-day leadership, purpose, and success training program held from August 5 to 7, 2026 in Bamenda. The conference was held under the theme "Raising Manifesting Leaders", with a focus on developing individuals who are equipped to lead and create meaningful impact.

The conference brought together seven mentors and three keynote speakers who shared insights and experiences designed to help participants develop their leadership capacity, clarify their purpose, and pursue personal and professional success.

Participants also gained opportunities for networking and relationship building, access to opportunities and connections that could lead to high-paying jobs, and a Certificate of Participation issued by RIMHEO. Beyond these opportunities, the conference encouraged participants to discover their purpose and take meaningful steps toward becoming leaders within their communities.

DIRA's partnership with the WSC reflects its commitment to leading communities and supporting success. By collaborating with initiatives that develop people and strengthen communities, DIRA continues to contribute to a more empowered and purpose-driven society in Bamenda and beyond.

A three-day open day focused on scientific research and innovation, with particular emphasis on empowering and transforming women and youth through AI technology.

The North West Open Day of Excellence for Scientific Research and Innovation (JERSI-NW) is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 12, 2026 at the North West Regional Centre for Research and Innovation (CRRI NW), Up Station, Bamenda.

The event will be held under the theme "Scientific Research and Innovation: Empowering and Transforming Women and Youth through AI Technology" , bringing together researchers, innovators, women, youth, and other stakeholders interested in the role of science, innovation, and artificial intelligence in shaping the future.

Running from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM each day, the open day will provide a platform for participants to engage with developments in scientific research and innovation while exploring the opportunities presented by AI-driven technologies.

Registration and participation will be open from August 18, 2026. The event provides an opportunity for members of the community to connect with researchers, innovators, and youth leaders while contributing to conversations around technology, research, and innovation in the North West Region.
